Watch Rewards aren’t just for Worlds anymore Riot Games Watch Rewards were introduced into League of Legends just last year as a part of the 2018 World Championships. They awarded players with a small amount of tokens for checking out games during Worlds. This year, Watch Rewards are back and there will be different versions for several of the world’s biggest leagues. The rewards this time around will include Emotes, Icons, XP, and Blue Essence. Just like during Worlds, players will be required to watch either live games or VoDs on lolesports.com after signing in with their League login information. Players will need to watch at least 10 minutes of a game or VOD in order to get credit for the missions. The rewards will be available in the following regions on the date listed: Brazil — Jan. 11 Turkey — Jan. 13 Latin America, Europe, North America, Oceania, and Japan — Jan. 17 According to Riot, the addition of Watch Rewards for the regular season is just the firs

The Ornn shop is gone
The first League of Legends patch of the new year has arrived and it’s bringing a few important champions changes with it.
First up are big changes to Kalista, Ornn and Sejuani. While the first two have substantial changes to their mechanics, Sejuani is mostly getting numbers changes which should add up to making her better in fights after she has used her ultimate, so she isn’t so much of a one-trick pony any more.
Also coming in patch 9.1 are a few minor rune changes, like increasing the attack speed stat rune, or making players with Celerity move a little faster. Turrets will also grant their assist gold to champions who are slightly further away now, which should let players be a little bit more careful about how they position when taking towers.
For a full look at all of the changes coming to patch 9.1, be sure to check out our patch notes.
KALISTA IS NO LONGER YOUR TEAM’S BEST JUNGLER
Kalista has always been a problem. Since her initial release she’s often been either too weak to play at all, or a complete monster in both solo queue and competitive play. As with most champions like that, Riot is taking a hard look at Kalista’s kit to see from where exactly some of the problems might stem. In this first adjustment to the champion, Riot is targeting the extra AD she gets from being near her soulbound ally, as well as the rend damage to monsters. This prevent her from scaling quite as fast, and certainly make her a little less effective at securing objectives like Dragon and Baron.
NO MORE ORNN SHOP
Ornn has always been in a slightly weird spot. He’s often been powerful, but it wasn’t for the reasons that made him unique. So, in order to move them to a better spot, Riot is making some changes to huge parts of his kit. Specifically the upgradable items part. Now, Ornn’s items will automatically upgrade after he hits level 13 — he can have two upgraded items at a time — and at each level after 14, Ornn will be able to upgrade an item of one of his teammates. While other parts his kit got changes, both nerfs and buffs, as well, this is the part that you’re most likely to notice right away.
QUALITY OF LIFE CHANGES AND A BIG NASUS BUFF
Quite a few champions fall under this category this time around. Ashe, for instance, gets an assist if her E grants vision of a champion before a kill, Jinx’s W scales off attack speed, Jayce’s Q and E combo together a little more smoothly. Nasus also now gets 12 stacks off canon minions. That’s not really a quality of life change it’s just a massive buff to stacks, doubling the number he gets from killing canon minions, large monsters and champions.
JUNGLE ITEM CHANGES
This isn’t necessarily a change for junglers, just to their items. Monster Hunter, the passive that prevented laners from using jungle items by reducing the amount of gold minions gave them if it made a majority of their total gold, is now back in the game. This was done mostly to help discourage funnel comps, which were making a bit of a comeback with the preseason.
NEW BLOOD MOON SKINS ARE HERE
For the first patch of the year Riot is breaking out the fan favorite Blood Moon skin line and giving it a few more additions. Pyke, Sivir and Aatrox are all getting Blood Moon outfits that looks fantastic. Even better, Aatrox’s Blood Moon skin is getting a Prestige version which will likely need to be unlocked through an event or missions.
Read the first issue for free to dive into Ashe’s past Riot Games The first issue of the Ashe: Warmother comic collaboration with Marvel launchedWednesday morning for all to read. (That’s right, it’s online for free.) The comic is an origin story for League ’s iconic marksman, Ashe, as she learns how to be the leader the Freljord needs. The series starts with her reminiscing of her youth and her strong mother. Ashe wasn’t always the leader that she is in game now. League fans probably already know what this is leading to, as the Ashe you play as in the game is vastly different from the Ashe we see in the comic. We know that she’ll eventually have white hair and become the leader the Avarosan needs (and she’ll marry Tryndamere along the way) but the journey is the fun part. The next issue comes out on Jan. 16, 2019 and will have monthly releases continuing on. The comic will be available for physical purchase in May as a trade paperback.
Hopefully players will not have to grind out over 100 games to unlock these skins With the announcement of the Prestige version of Firecracker Vayne and the upcoming release of Blood Moon Aaatrox and the Prestige version of the skin, conversation among League of Legends players has focused on these golden skins. Originally introduced for the 2018 Worlds event, a Prestige version of the K/DA Kai’Sa skin was announced, with a new model who did look substantially different than her original form. Then came Prestige K/DA Akali for the Snowdown Showdown event shortly after Worlds. The golden Blood Moon Aatrox popped up on the Public Beta Environment in December and is awaiting release on live servers. Now, we have another Prestige skin, presumably for the Lunar Revel event that takes place at the end of January. The two skins are pretty different Riot Games via Surrender@20 To get Akali and Kai’Sa’s skins, players had to buy a pass for 1650 RP and 1450 RP respectively, that wou
Akali and Pyke nerfs! Riot Games The year is winding down and people are beginning to cozy up by the fireplace to celebrate the holidays. That doesn’t exclude Riot Games, which has dropped its last update of the year in the form of a tiny fix patch. All of the changes in here are balance tweaks. There’s no new mechanics, champions or even skins. Riot just wants to make sure that everything is in a good spot before we all take a break and get some well-deserved rest before the season 9 starts in January. Akali and Pyke are getting the most focus this patch, as the two have been trouble for quite a bit now. Akali is getting tweaks to her Twilight Shroud and Pyke is getting a number of changes. A handful of marksmen are getting buffed and some mages are getting nerfed, including Neeko. As usual, you can check out Riot’s full notes here and our tl;dr here . AKALI & PYKE AKALI Riot Games Akali can be more effectively counterattacked when revealing herself from Shrou
