Watch Rewards aren’t just for Worlds anymore Riot Games Watch Rewards were introduced into  League of Legends  just last year as a part of the 2018 World Championships. They awarded players with a small amount of tokens for checking out games during Worlds. This year, Watch Rewards are back and there will be different versions for several of the world’s biggest leagues. The rewards this time around will include Emotes, Icons, XP, and Blue Essence. Just like during Worlds, players will be required to watch either live games or VoDs on  lolesports.com  after signing in with their  League  login information. Players will need to watch at least 10 minutes of a game or VOD in order to get credit for the missions. The EU LCS is changing its name to LEC and adding 10 franchised teams

The EU LCS is changing names and logos and will become the LEC

The EU LCS is no more. Instead, the highest level of European League will now be called the League of Legends European Championship — or LEC. Along with the new branding, Riot is also collecting the LEC organizations and franchising 10 of them, just like the company did with the NA LCS last year.
The 10 teams that will be competing in the league will be:
  • Fnatic
  • Schalke 04
  • G2 Esports
  • Misfits Gaming
  • Origen
  • Excel Esports
  • Rogue
  • SK Gaming
  • Splyce
  • Team Vitality
While most of the 10 teams that have been franchised for the LEC will be familiar to fans that have watched the EU LCS over the last five years, there are two new teams: Excel Esports and Rogue.
This brand new name for the freshly franchised league will help set it apart from the NA LCS, giving both regions a more clear and distinct international identity. Along with a new logo, which looks like two halves of a broken crown coming together, the LEC also has a completely new and unique art style that came along with it’s announcement.
Riot Games
Just like the EU LCS last year, the LEC will continue to host its games out of Berlin in the usual studio. The LEC will also be getting a few new additions to the on-air broadcast team — as many of the broadcasters fans know have moved to freelance rather than official Riot positions, their participation in the LEC remains unclear, but fairly likely — but there is no official word on who that will mean just yet. The newly re-branded LEC season will kick off on Jan. 18, 2019.

Valentine’s Day 2019: Heartbreaker Vi and Heartpiercer Fiora skins remind that love hurts

Heartbreaker Vi and Heartpiercer Fiora are the latest love themed skins Riot Games As if there wasn’t enough news already today — what with new patches, new skins and a new champion — Riot has also decided to announce this year’s Valentine’s Day skins for Vi and Fiora. Based on their titles, these two skins aren’t exactly the Heartseeker skins we’re used to. Vi’s new skin is called Heartbreaker Vi, and Fiora’s is Heartpiercer. The skins have a distinctly medieval feel to them with Fiora looking royal in a purple and red quilted dress and Vi suiting up in purple, red and gold armor. The splash even lets us know that’s the case as it features Fiora knighting Vi. This line of skins is for all things love in the  League of Legends  universe, so they should be out around Valentine’s Day. League of Legends patch 8.24b change list

Akali and Pyke nerfs! Riot Games The year is winding down and people are beginning to cozy up by the fireplace to celebrate the holidays. That doesn’t exclude Riot Games, which has dropped its last update of the year in the form of a tiny fix patch. All of the changes in here are balance tweaks. There’s no new mechanics, champions or even skins. Riot just wants to make sure that everything is in a good spot before we all take a break and get some well-deserved rest before the season 9 starts in January. Akali and Pyke are getting the most focus this patch, as the two have been trouble for quite a bit now. Akali is getting tweaks to her Twilight Shroud and Pyke is getting a number of changes.
